The architectural articulation of volumes and detailed cladding throughout Park Plaza generates the visual impression of a family of buildings, without each structure losing its distinct identity. The development has achieved Leed Gold certification for its functional environmental efficiency, thanks to 100% rainwater harvesting, thermal insulating façade, all-green roof, increased water efficiency and interior ventilation, among other measures. The interior design project for Hotel Oriente located in the Eastern side of Mexico City included a new name and branding. This hotel was very well known in the area, so it was important that changes were not radical and the playful result of switching the name initials set the guidelines maintaining the original name by adding the use of and expression related to emotions such as: happiness, joy and surprise: Oh to which an exclamation sign was added to emphasize the attitude. DIN interiorismo´s design team decided to play with this symbolism and referred to the world of comics –discarding the original idea to use Oriental motives- and developing a fun proposal zoned in 4 areas called: Yuppie, Yeah, Wow and Wahu. One of the challenges you most enjoy DIN interior is to give a new image to a hotel, especially when it involves a comprehensive change , which begins and ends in the name of a new concept. Woven Sun Shading Facade in Mexico Stainless steel wire mesh can be utilized to filter sunrays, creating an aesthetic sun protection screen while maintaining a cool, comfortable temperature inside the building. These reasons also convinced the architects at Studio Inhomogeneo SC. For their sun screen façade in Polanco they chose the HAVER Architectural Mesh EGLA-TWIN 4253. This wire mesh is characterized by its smooth flat surface on one side which reflects the sun light homogenously. In total three wire mesh elements of 6.50 m length and 2.90 m width are mounted over the three floors of the new renovated office building. The project for Colegio de la Imagen Publica (Public Image College) was developed in an area of 1000 sq m with a frontage of 23 m, wherein the extent and allowable height resulted in vertical solution of 8 levels, 2.5 basements and a roof garden, along with gardens and water mirrors. The structure, the facade, and all the spaces are integrated into one by an apparent structure.Parking levels were solved with a concrete structure that has natural lighting and ventilation. The vertical volume, from level 5 to the top, contains the metal structure of the school. The project appears closed in the front committed to turning inward. We planted an “L” scheme. The main volume is solved with a spatial sequence that leads at first to a portico entrance, separating the social area by a vegetated courtyard and a picture window. The gap between the volumes, enclosed by a lattice of ironwork and glass, contains the main staircase and introduces natural light to the central range. Materiality provides structural clarity to the house: a couple of volumes perched on a base and walls of exposed concrete, one of them continues like a tape beyond the living room to confine the courtyard garden center and serve as backup to the terrace.
