Commonweatlh Community Recreation Centre
Located on a prominent civic precinct, the new development consolidates the once residual condition of the site into a revitalized, 24/7 urban park space and event destination. It is a joint-use partnership between the City of Edmonton and the Edmonton Eskimos Football Club; combining football operations, stadium programming, and a community centre. The facility adaptively reuses the 1978 stadium fitness centre and connects these user groups over 4 storeys through a cascading promenade.
Three primary masses – Field House, Aquatics and Gymnasium – respond to the dynamic triangulated geometries of the site and frame a central lobby space, ‘the Social Heart’. These in turn define three exterior forecourt spaces.

Regent Park Aquatic Centre
Located in downtown Toronto, Regent Park is Canada’s oldest and largest social housing project, built in the late 1940’s. The community has historically been viewed as a transitional community for new immigrants, but due to social and physical planning ills, has contributed to the concentration of a socially marginalized population. 41% of the population living in Regent Park are under 18, and over 70% of the population lives below the Low-Income Cut-Off Rate.

Centennial College Ashtonbee Campus Library and Student Hub
Centennial College is the oldest publicly funded college in Ontario with four campuses serving the Greater Toronto Area east.Near a major intersection and in the Golden Mile neighbourhood of Toronto, the Ashtonbee Campus serves as the largest transportation technology training school in Canada. The campus is surrounded by residential, parklands, and is situated within a retail / commercial / light industrial typology.While generating successful industry partnerships and a thriving training program, the circa 1970’s campus suffered from safety concerns, accessibility issues, aging infrastructure, and lacked student support services and social gathering spaces.
