Villa Keri has an incredible location on Zakynthos Island, being on a hill, every room in the house offers an unforgettable view of the sea. The project is aimed at creating a balance of traditions and modern trends. Therefore, local stone was chosen as the main material, the masonry of which is a unique relief of the facade, modern elements such as large floor-to-ceiling windows and white columns and beams complement and emphasize the architectural forms of the villa. This modern villa was built in southern Greater Poland at the request of a young entrepreneur who liked modern architecture. The building has several zones: day, night, recreation and relaxation. This modern flat roof villa, designed for a family of four in Pfaffenhofen, Germany, was awarded the first prize in the competition "House of the Year", organized by Europe's biggest living magazine "Schöner Wohnen". With its formal references to the “Bauhaus”, the L-shaped building impresses by its large glass fronts, through which light and air gain access inside. This impressed the jury as well as "the modern interpretation of the wood panel construction, whose weather-independent, accurate and fast prefabrication of quality is not to beat." The design of Chaman Villa began with how to deal with existing condition on site; an old residential unit and a pool. We seek to preserve them.  By placing a Cedrus tree at the end of entrance path and redefining this path a structural ax was made in a way that second volume added at the other side of the ax. Since the primary volume was in the basic house form, by playing with slopes and eliminating symmetry, we tried to remodel the archetypal house. These changes were in a way that the public and private zones divided according to their needed areas. Façade transparency between the volumes makes the Cedrus to be seen from the site entry.  More

The first point in confronting the project is the amazing and very beautiful atmosphere of the site. The area is surrounded by a beautiful landscape of Damavand Mountain, valleys, river and vast pastures. Project's site is stretching along a relatively steep slope and from the point where access to lower stages is difficult and as the upper stage is the largest and the most accessible area, it was considered for the construction of the villa. Previously, the walls around the site and a metal pergola were built in the second stage that was retained throughout the design process.
