Morphogenesis designs a sustainable Indian hospitality school using local building traditions
In the northern Indian city of Faridabad, a recently completed hospitality school’s construction was informed by local building traditions. Designed by Indian Architecture and Urban Design firm Morphogenesis, The Lalit Suri Hospitality School strikes a harmonious balance between the built environment and surrounding landscape. The school’s design brief described the need for a sustainable campus, set within a modest institutional framework, that would prepare students for a career in India’s luxury hospitality sector.

Surat Diamond Bourse by Morphogenesis becomes the world's largest office building
Designed by Indian architecture firm Morphogenesis following an international design competition, the Surat Diamond Bourse in Surat, India, is a diamond trading hub with a floor space of 660,000 square meters (7,100,000 square feet), making it the world's largest office building. Constructed over 35 acres of land, the 15-storey complex comprises nine rectangular structures that spill out from and are connected by a central 'spine' for interconnection between the tower levels.

The Woodside
The development is located in close proximity to the town of Kasauli, which is well-connected by road to the cities of Chandigarh and New Delhi. The site is highly contoured land with level differences of about a 100 m within the site. The neighbourhood is predominantly used for agriculture and vegetation, and hence the site exists within a vast green, mountainous landscape.
