Mountain Retreat Villa
Mountain Retreat Villa is a contemporary luxury residence conceived for a steep, forested mountain setting, where architecture and landscape are carefully integrated to create a private retreat immersed in nature.
The design is organized as a series of interconnected volumes that follow the natural topography of the site, minimizing the visual impact of the building while maximizing panoramic views toward the surrounding forest and mountainous landscape. The stepped configuration creates multiple terraces and outdoor spaces, allowing different areas of the residence to maintain a direct relationship with the surrounding environment.

Seriema House
Seriema House is located in a bucolic refuge on the outskirts of Belo Horizonte. To access it, you must cross a mountain range, a journey that marks a transition. By leaving behind the noise of the city, visitors enter a serene environment, fully integrated with nature.

The site where the house was built reveals two distinct scenarios. On one side, a wide and open view of the mountains; on the other, a dense forest, full of trees. In this balance between expansive landscape and shaded refuge, the house fits in harmoniously. Seriemas, typical birds from the region, roam freely around the place and inspired the name of the residence.

llabb architects complete light and contemplative retreat in stunning Val Trebbia
With initially only its entrance door visible, the Hermitage by llabb in Val Trebbia is a rectangular volume approached from the northwest of the property. The walls on three sides of the volume are clad with horizontally oriented plywood boards. The fourth side opens up to the valley with expansive views made possible by four full-height glazed panels.

The walls, floor, and ceiling are made of Okoumè marine plywood panels, a wood that was selected for its resistance to weathering. The facades are attached to spacer battens to create an air space between the facade and the walls, an assembly which improves insulation performance.

Bivacco Brédy
Bivacco Bredy is the winning proposal from an invited competition organized by YACademy and Cantieri d’Alta Quota on behalf of the Brédy family. Developed by BCW Collective, the design is a specific solution for a high altitude site in the Italian region of Valle d’Aosta, near the Laghi di Dzioule, two small alpine lakes at 2500m elevation in the secluded Vertosan Valley.
The competition sought detailed designs of a bivouac to celebrate the memory of Claudio Brédy, a well-known politician and alpinist from Valle d’Aosta who tragically lost his life in a climbing accident at the end of 2017.

Mountain Retreat
The Mountain Retreat is an interior renovation for an eclectic and unique mountain retreat located on a mountain top in central Virginia. Originally designed by a mathematician in the 1970’s, the plan is designed around a pentagon, and placed strategically in a large cleared meadow. The strategy was simple in the end - white washing the eclectic palette and simplifying all materials in the home while still maintaining the unique geometry and eccentricity of the original design.White washed oak floors from a fallen oak tree on the new owners property replace the existing flooring.
