Museo della Luce

The Museum of Light is a Spatial Work by Fausto Ferrara conceived in Pucón, Chile. The project does not treat light as a subject to be represented or as a scenographic effect. Light becomes a constructive material of architecture: it participates in the generation of form and makes perceptible the relationship between body, space, matter and time. Water, sky and landscape are not a background to the building. They enter into the construction of the Work through reflections, openings, thresholds and variations of light, continuously transforming the perception of space. What should a second home feel like—an escape, a pause, or simply somewhere that draws you back? In Satara, this 1,200 sq ft apartment by architect Vaishnavi Shinde, founding principal of Pune-based VSA Design Studio, is shaped around that in-between. Designed as a secondary residence for a businessman, his wife, and their two college-going sons, it is a home they return to when they want life to feel a little lighter. À Raum derives from the French phrase meaning “into space”, though we interpret it as an invitation to gather. In a school where children learn through bodily movement, À Raum offers a counterbalance: a spatial pause designed for stillness, reflection, and mindfulness. Like standing before the sea or walking into a forest, the space invites a return to the self—a rereading of the mind through the body, and the body through space. Slit House Satara

Set within the urban fabric of Satara, the Slit House is conceived on a gently sloping site, where sectional manipulation becomes central to the spatial experience. The defining architectural gesture is a linear “slit” that decisively divides the built mass into two primary volumes. This incision extends through walls and slabs, forming a vertical, double-height void that organizes light, ventilation, and movement throughout the house.
