Kindcentrum Middenwaard

Children’s Center Middenwaard in Amstelveen was designed with the underlying idea that the building is part of the surrounding greenery; The building and the outdoor areas fit together well, together they form one whole. The new children’s center, which houses a school, daycare and gymnasium, has been kept as compact as possible, leaving more space for the outdoors. The design is elongated, with a narrower section in the middle, which leaves space outside for the line of sight from east to west; this allows the surrounding greenery to continue well. On the east side, the building shifts slightly to the north and on the west side to the south. This creates a playful shape that fits in perfectly with the surroundings and provide... More

House A12

Located within the historic Hembrugterrein, House A12 has been reimagined as a vibrant home for two families with children, marking a remarkable transformation from its origins as a military sanitary facility. Once a utilitarian structure serving personnel at a nearby shooting range, the 100-year-old building had stood decommissioned since 2003, awaiting a new purpose. Now, through the efforts of the clients, it has been reborn as a unique residential space, blending heritage and modernity. Michal Suskiewicz (www.goodoko.com) From 1895, the site housed the Artillerie Inrichtingen, producing firearms and ammunition for the Dutch army. During World War I, it became a bustling hub, employing 8,500 workers. However, its fortunes waned aft... More

Quintas

This project emerges for a communal housing functioning since 1980, in which 13 houses share and coexist within a 12,500 sqm ground located in Cuernavaca, a city known for its privileged weather, leafy panorama and fertile land.  Andrés Cedillo Our project is inserted at the core of the ground as a place where people seek to coexist in harmony between each other and with nature. Trees over 100 years old habit in this piece of ground because it used to be a vivarium before being converted to communal housing in the early 80´s. Andrés Cedillo The design strategy seeks to blur the limits between the inside and outside. Long concrete roofs overlay over open spaces, daring gravity, to provide cover but not co... More

Little House on the River

“a reflection on our landscapes and a return to the essence of childhood to inhabit, play and explore, the refuge, the tree house, summer, the metaphorical value of the created territory, the awareness of the lived place, the passage of time, inside the forest and next to the river" Caption The landscape is what is present in nature and goes beyond the visual or perceptual if we understand it as a system of resources and interactions that allow it to be, giving it value is being able to dialogue with it without damaging its essence. Architecture is when you know how to read that system and join it, if you are environmentally conscious, as one more element that makes the most of resources without damaging them, where, every day,...
