Harvard Undergraduate House Renewal Winthrop House

Winthrop House, comprised of two Neo-Georgian former freshman dormitory buildings from 1913, had undergone few upgrades since its construction. The renewal program re-envisioned Winthrop’s residential, academic, social, and co-curricular spaces and addresses technical challenges, including significant envelope upgrades, the installation of all-new mechanical systems, and detailed restoration work for the House’s signature public spaces. Capitol Crossing

BBB led the restoration and expansion of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, as well as the restoration and relocation of the historic Adas Israel Synagogue. The projects were coordinated with and integral aspects to the construction of Capitol Crossing, Property Group Partners’ transformative 2.2 million SF mixed-use development comprised of five new buildings in downtown Washington. National Urban League

The National Urban League is a historic civil rights organization dedicated to economic empowerment to elevate the standard of living in historically underserved urban communities. The new building is a collaboration of private, public, and state organizations, and will house the Urban Civil Rights Museum Experience and the National Urban League Institute for Race, Equity and Justice in addition to the National Urban League’s headquarters. TWA Hotel at JFK International Airport

Eero Saarinen’s iconic 1962 TWA Flight Center at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City is among the most significant examples of mid-century modern architecture in the world. The landmark was shuttered for nearly 20 years after the airlines went out of business in 2001, but was later protected in 2005 when it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. North Island Hospital

Opened in late 2017, the North Island Hospital project brought two new healthcare campuses to the Vancouver Island health authority—one in Comox and the other in Campbell River. Cascadia Windows & Doors supplied nearly 900 double-glazed windows (argon-filled with Low-E 366) across both projects, delivering a R-value of 3.7 (U-0.27). This overall thermal performance helped the projects achieve LEED Gold status. More

IFF Access Housing

IFF Access Housing provides much needed community-based affordable rental housing for people with disabilities. Located on 25 scattered sites across a 2.5-mile footprint, the project helps stabilize Chicago’s Humboldt Park and Logan Square communities through the utilization and improvement of foreclosed and vacant properties. The Sheridan at Mason

HED designed the Sheridan Mason Senior Living Community as a prototype. The two story structure provides assisted living and memory support to seniors and consists of market rate studios, one bedroom, and two-bedroom residential apartments. The Sheridan at Birmingham

The new Student Union at Los Angeles City College is a multi-story landmark celebrating diversity and community; a flagship facility that is sustainable, timeless and celebratory of the campus’ Hollywood history and legacy. Palo Alto High School New Performing Arts Center

Situated in close proximity to existing drama, choir and music programs, Palo Alto High School’s Performing Arts Center creates new, flexible spaces—and new opportunities—for each.   Providing community gathering and meeting areas as well as performance space, the facility is fully equipped with the latest A/V technology, and can accommodate an entire grade group for orientations, lectures and assemblies.   The exterior elevation features traditional design elements, including covered porches and arcades. Oceanside Performing Arts Center

HED was selected from a pool of 28 submissions and 5 finalists to design the Oceanside Unified School District’s, New Performing Arts Center at Oceanside High School. Woven into the urban fabric of downtown Glendale through expansive pedestrian promenades and a central courtyard, Americana at Brand combines a vibrant mix of residences, shopping, dining, and entertainment.  At its heart, it has a two-acre park featuring fountains, pathways and abundant shade trees.
