PennWest California New Science Building
This new facility will replace two outdated buildings and feature advanced laboratories for biology, chemistry, and physics. During planning, the team prioritized designing highly flexible labs that accommodate a wide range of class types and sizes. In addition, DRAW designed the building to complement the historic architecture of the main campus, ensuring it harmonizes with its surroundings.

Squaw Pass
Set within the wooded hills of Evergreen, this residence was conceived as a modern alpine retreat defined by clarity of form and material contrast. Strong architectural lines, layered stonework, and warm wood accents were carefully composed to create balance between contemporary expression and its natural surroundings. Every exterior and outdoor living space was refined to deliver a seamless relationship between structure, landscape, and everyday living.

Catskills Farmhouse
Perched atop a hill overlooking a remarkable valley with Frederick Church’s Olana in the distance, this 1761 Dutch stone farmhouse was restored after peeling back years of vinyl and Formica clad additions. This hidden jewel on a working farm along the Hudson Valley was transformed into a weekend home for New Yorkers, while the farm and original barns were maintained on the property. The significant age of the original Colonial farmhouse is no mystery. The iron tie rods that hold the roof together spell out 1761, signaling the year the home was built. Harvard Undergraduate House Renewal Winthrop House
Winthrop House, comprised of two Neo-Georgian former freshman dormitory buildings from 1913, had undergone few upgrades since its construction. The renewal program re-envisioned Winthrop’s residential, academic, social, and co-curricular spaces and addresses technical challenges, including significant envelope upgrades, the installation of all-new mechanical systems, and detailed restoration work for the House’s signature public spaces. The National Urban League is a historic civil rights organization dedicated to economic empowerment to elevate the standard of living in historically underserved urban communities. The new building is a collaboration of private, public, and state organizations, and will house the Urban Civil Rights Museum Experience and the National Urban League Institute for Race, Equity and Justice in addition to the National Urban League’s headquarters.

TWA Hotel at JFK International Airport
Eero Saarinen’s iconic 1962 TWA Flight Center at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City is among the most significant examples of mid-century modern architecture in the world. The landmark was shuttered for nearly 20 years after the airlines went out of business in 2001, but was later protected in 2005 when it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Eventually, the terminal was saved when MCR and MORSE Development won the bid to turn the historic landmark into a hotel for the 21st century, which eventually opened in May 2019.

Opened in late 2017, the North Island Hospital project brought two new healthcare campuses to the Vancouver Island health authority—one in Comox and the other in Campbell River.
Cascadia Windows & Doors supplied nearly 900 double-glazed windows (argon-filled with Low-E 366) across both projects, delivering a R-value of 3.7 (U-0.27). This overall thermal performance helped the projects achieve LEED Gold status. More

IFF Access Housing provides much needed community-based affordable rental housing for people with disabilities. Located on 25 scattered sites across a 2.5-mile footprint, the project helps stabilize Chicago’s Humboldt Park and Logan Square communities through the utilization and improvement of foreclosed and vacant properties. The project includes rehabilitation of 12 foreclosed buildings and new construction of 13 two- and three-flat buildings on city-owned infill lots.

The Sheridan at Mason
HED designed the Sheridan Mason Senior Living Community as a prototype. The two story structure provides assisted living and memory support to seniors and consists of market rate studios, one bedroom, and two-bedroom residential apartments. Amenities include a bistro, wellness offices, a beauty salon, library, a theater, and a grand parlor.
