For this project, we were hired as design architects to create the facade and overall identity for the new Seward Tower at 222 East Broadway. Our clients sought to enhance efficiency and introduce warmth into their spacious two-bedroom apartment on West 57th Street. The challenge was to create a seamless layout that maximized open views of the Manhattan skyline while ensuring a timeless and inviting atmosphere, often absent in high-rise apartments. Our design for this Upper East Side apartment focused on creating an open and efficient living space, enhancing spatial continuity within the historic pre-war layout through a bright yet minimal material palette. By reconfiguring the existing floor plan, we connected the kitchen and dining area to the living room, which overlooks Madison Avenue with partial views of Central Park. A former maid’s room at the rear was expanded into a third bedroom with an en-suite bath, improving both functionality and flow. This midcentury modern-inspired Riverside Drive Apartment is a combined 2,500-square-foot apartment. It is designed as a home for a family of five that would continue to accommodate the children as they grow older. The apartment renovation transformed the space by relocating the entrance and creating a generous foyer adjacent to the new enlarged kitchen. This duplex apartment in Tribeca offers breathtaking views of the Hudson River and the downtown Manhattan skyline. Our design sought to preserve the original layout’s open, airy feel while providing privacy for a family of four with two young children. To make the most of the panoramic city views, the layout is carefully organized along the perimeter, with storage and secondary spaces integrated into the apartment's core. Our clients, passionate art lovers and collectors, enlisted us to combine two apartments on the 17th floor of a Fifth Avenue building, offering panoramic views of Central Park and the city. Their goal was to create a space that would showcase their art collection—paintings and sculptures—while providing a neutral backdrop. We transformed the original, segmented layout into an open floor plan that evokes the feel of an art gallery. The design serves as a canvas itself, with soft white walls and a concrete floor featuring irregular bronze inserts. From the outset, our clients' needs were clear: they had purchased a loft with no walls and wanted to maintain its open, airy feel. However, they still required a kitchen, two bedrooms, and two bathrooms to make the space functional. We found the perfect solution with a single, bold gesture. By introducing a central freestanding volume to house the kitchen and bathrooms, we were able to meet their requirements without compromising the loft’s open layout.
