Omakase Xi
Omakase Xi is a sushi restaurant located in Lujiazui business district in Shanghai’s Pudong New Area, with a net indoor area of about 82㎡. Chef Jiang studied sushi making as an apprentice with a Japanese sushi master and wanted to run his own Omakase in Shanghai after returning to China, named Xi (which means little creek in Chinese), and that became a key inspiration for our design. Chef Jiang wants the sushi restaurant to be simple, rustic, and adopt the style of a traditional Japanese sushi restaurant. We learn from the spatial composition of a traditional Japanese house.

Golden Omakase Extension
This project is an extension of the Japanese restaurant Golden Omakase in Shanghai, designed by atelier TUO. The extension was required to be completed within a short construction period, providing a small public space along the commercial street while adding a new entrance and private dining room for the restaurant.

Located in a district that combines commercial vibrancy with historical character, the site is long and narrow—approximately 15 meters in length and 2.1 meters in width—preserving a required fire access lane. Pedestrian flow is concentrated along one side of the site.

RYUZU Omakase
The Japanese restaurant Omakase RyuZu is located at the MACHE' THONGLOR project. The name "RyuZu" comes from the Japanese words "竜頭ノ滝," meaning "Dragon Head Waterfall," a grand waterfall in Japan where multiple streams converge to form the dragon head shape. Taste Space expanded on this concept to create the culinary concept called "Nikiri" (煮切り), involving dipping sushi in a special sauce before serving. This is akin to the flow of the RyuZu waterfall, represented in the restaurant's design.

71st Omakase Restaurant
The interior renovation project in the Cikajang area, South Jakarta. Started from the client’s desire to create a fine-dining restaurant with the Omakase concept which is “food consisting of chef’s choice of dishes”. Located in an area filled with restaurants, this is a challenge for architects.
