Apartment Refurbishment in Gran de Gràcia, BarcelonaThe project involves the complete refurbishment of a 160-square-metre apartment, in one of the most important axis of the city.The original plan layout corresponds to the building typology with load-bearing walls parallel to the facade and the rooms positioned to each side of a long corridor.The owners were attracted by the apartment’s traditional typology with its exceptional illumination by the three patios. Apartment Refurbishment in BarcelonetaThe project concerns the refurbishment of an apartment in Barceloneta that suffered through a number of different interventions over the years and had lost its beauty and charm. Our team was challenged to apply a new program and recover the apartment’s traditional character. The most important aspects included the improvement of both the natural illumination as well as the ventilation of the space.The original layout of the apartment generated small, dark rooms with bad communication and illumination. Apartment Refurbishment in Poble Nou, BarcelonaThe project involved a full renovation of a top-floor apartment with a terrace, converting its broken layout of long dark corridors into a functional home with plenty of natural light.The owners, a couple with a toddler and a newborn child wanted a space that can evolve to meet their changing needs. Nestled within a sloping garden plot in South London, this discrete pavilion style house sits quietly amongst the trees.The house wraps around the boundaries of the site to create a parking courtyard to the front and private contained garden to the rear.A low lying timber clad element with a cantilevering roof contains the bedrooms and bathrooms at the front of the house. This gives way to a long brick wrapping form to the rear, containing an open plan kitchen and dining area with glazed doors leading out to the garden.Photography by Martin Gardner More

This property is located on the outskirts of Haslemere, outside the development boundary in the Green Belt, in a predominantly rural, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The period cottage is assumed to have been constructed in the second half of the 19th century with photographic evidence showing later extensions and the conversion into two semi-detached dwellings prior to 1955. The new owners fell in love with the historic appearance and tranquil setting of the house.
