Light building elements measuring five metres in height accompany visitors and patients along the impressive entry zone of Nürtingen Clinic on the way to the new hospital entrance. Being unshielded, the luminaires have a guiding and signalling effect at even the most distant parking places. Orientation on the grounds is therefore easy.The small avenue of trees and the numerous seats are evocative of a Mediterranean park. With its clear-cut lines, the building of the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research blends in effectively with the existing surroundings of the Georg August University in Göttingen.Modern research departments are combined with organisational areas and public utility spaces over an area of around 10,000 square metres. The new complex is fully tailored to the special needs of researchers. The earliest historical sources place the construction of this religious building in the first half of the 17th century, when it formed part of the cloistered monastery of San Giuseppe in Fasano. In 2016, the building's facade underwent restoration work carried out by architect Angela Sabatelli. The surface of local tuff stone was cleaned, returning the facade to the original light colour typical of this material. Sabatelli was also responsible for the lighting design, for which she chose various recessed fixtures from the Bright family and Pivot outdoor projectors.
