The task at hand was to create a distinctive park that would smoothly blend into rich environment — ‘Tomilino Park’ residential development on the one side, and both a thick forest and Mirny and Oktyabrsky settlements on the other. Fivedot partnered with Site Workshop to design a new public restroom for Fort Steilacoom Park in Lakewood, Washington, a large regional park known for its open meadows, trails, and remnants of historic farm structures. The design of this new square takes on the challenge to redefine hierarchy between driving and walking in public space. Pavement textures are homogenized throughout the square, roads are raised to sidewalk level only subtly demarcated. Serge Prison Sidewalks and terraces are increased in size on all sides, further reducing the proportion of space attributed to car use and implying to drivers they are treading on pedestrian ground and thus should drive carefully.The square itself acts as the focal point of leisure activities, hosting dense vegetation and a semi-circular bench around a topographic play and a fountain as informal playing area for children. Oak Grove Park is located in the heart of a modernist housing neighborhood in Klaipėda, Lithuania. Revitalized in 2021, the park has become a beloved spot for locals. It offers two distinct zones: one for active leisure, with sports areas, exercise facilities, and playgrounds, and another for quiet relaxation, where people can read under trees, gather in small spaces, or feed birds by the pond. Skaistakalnis Park is the oldest park in Panevėžys, Lithuania. Set in a scenic landscape along the bend of the Nevežis River, the park features hilly, wooded areas, small streams, and ponds. The architectural team "PUPA / Life Over Space" redesigned the park to enhance its beauty and accessibility. New bridges and paths improved access to previously hidden areas, while new activity zones, refreshed greenery, and increased biodiversity made the park more enjoyable for citizens.
