Villa in the Park, Alkmaar
Living in the Park
The design instructions for this residential project were to design a modern family house from scratch that fits in well with the 1960s bungalow neighbourhood near the center of the city of Alkmaar in the North of Holland. To be able to comply with the desired square meters, a new freestanding two-storey house was designed with a sloping roof that refers to the old bungalows in the neighbourhood. The deep back garden and the unobstructed view of the adjacent park were decisive in placing the living room and kitchen at the back of the house. Monitor's Rest
Emerging on a monolithic plinth from the craggy slopes of Park City, Utah, an 18,000 square-foot home offers moments of respite for an active, outdoors-oriented family. Constructed within the award-winning development The Colony at White Pine Canyon with The Iluminus Group, Monitor’s Rest is an elegant outcropping set apart by its high-altitude site and restrained aesthetic. The form stitches together the disparate natural and human landscapes as a series of rectilinear volumes which appear to erode into the mountainside itself.

Park City Residence
The Park City Residence is a small mountain cabin located adjacent to the historic downtown area of Park City Utah. Working within the restrictive zoning ordinance provided by the city, the Park City Residence resembles a traditional mountain cabin. The design utilizes a sloped roof and traditional exterior form, while black wood siding and a metal roof reference the aging barns seen in the landscape of Utah.The interior however, is a contemporary intervention in contrast with the exterior. On a gentle ridge looking out to Park City the Red Hawk residence is perched on a mountain crest that offers the perfect vantage point for its spectacular surroundings. By way of outdoor living spaces the home's design weaves uninterrupted views of Utah's iconic mountains into the daily living of the family that flocks there.For Park City's serene summer season the home is wrapped with a deck for breakfast dining, lazy day reading, and sunset viewing. But with the 7,500 foot elevation and the raw, breathtaking views also comes extreme weather in spectacular form.
