Encinos House consist into a single-family house, which is located at the outskirts of Mexico City, inside in a private residential complex. Our premise was to create a habitable space surrounded by a vast vegetation, while inside, we created a natural and elegant environment, that stands out by the use of exposed and natural materials, in combination with daylight entrance and furniture integration. The program is divided clearly 2 main areas -the public areas are located in ground floor, and most of the private areas take place on upper floor- those spaces are placed around a central-interior patio. 1st place national architecture competition   The project was developed with the idea that public schools are key spaces for social change. They should be designed well beyond the idea of just learning spaces, but also as community centres, alive and open all day. The school's desing starts form the gound, and follows the 9m slope in between the site's borders, prioritizing the accesses and creating three distinct development levels. Housing architecture reflects the way in which we understand our being-in-the-world, and represents the conjunction of wishes, wills, emotions and ideals. The plan layout is grouped to form a compact building entity, providing both a coherent base for environmental performance concepts and a reply to the insertion of the program within the existing site. The density of the resulting model frees up the garden area and the facade of the building behind. This ‘compacting’ of the building is the result of a study to optimise its volumetric constraints and orientation in order to gain a maximum of direct sunlight without penalising the existing neighbours.
