MARACANÃ | Penthouse duplex

This project is anchored in the panoramic view from the penthouse. Inspired by the blue sky encircling it, we immersed different shades of sky colors into the apartment, in the furniture, walls and decorative details. Penthouse at the sea

The residence is a newly constructed penthouse by the sea. Our advice was requested when the building was under construction. We intervened with a partial internal redistribution and assisted the Clients in the choice of finishes and furnishings. The guiding star of our work has been the Client’s strong wish to be able to enjoy the environment with a refined atmosphere and at the same time fresh and informal, which recall the proximity to the beach and the sea in with the light amplified through natural textures and with space for furnishing elements with a strong personality. Among the white vertical surfaces, the back wall of the kitchen corner stands out, completely covered in precious multicolored Vietrese majolica tiles by France... More

AJ House

The owners want to break with a constrained and standard housing model for another adapted to their way of understanding and enjoying their home, without having to change their location in the city.   The creative process is based on the owners wishes wich will be the backbone of the final proposal.   The house proposal establishes a clear separation between the day area and the night area, which currently did not occur. The active social life of the owners, as well as their family dynamics invites us to design an open, bright day area with the possibility of adapting it to the needs and desires of each moment.   The night area is grouped and provided with greater privacy, hidden behind a large wooden box.   Thre... 320 Plummer

You may not have heard of Ebenezer Howard, but visit our new multi-residential project in Port Melbourne and you can see his legacy come to life. In the 19th century, Howard drew up concepts for a ‘garden city’, urban pockets with plenty of green space clustered around the city centres to help evenly distribute density. With P.M. we’ve picked up where he left off, creating a 21st century garden city in resort form, which will anchor Port Melbourne’s future. Three buildings grace the landscaped grounds. The P.M. building is the tallest of all three, a slender, sculptural structure with wrap around flesh glazing covered in white lace. Anchoring the corner of the site, the twisting form is followed by the two billowing... More

W72nd Penthouse

Located in the historic Oliver Cromwell Building, The W72nd penthouse inhabits the top three floors of the historic building in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. With commanding views of Central Park, it’s an awe-inspiring refuge from the frenetic pace of NYC. The clients, a financier and a tech entrepreneur, one from Pakistan and the other a Detroit native, longed for a cozy retreat to counterbalance their busy lifestyle. The fusion of two cultural backgrounds are apparent in the mixtures of textiles and material selections throughout the home.   With two growing daughters and a steady stream of houseguests, the project aimed to accommodate their family as well as act as a secluded shelter away from city life. The space is f... Tribeca Loft

An exemplary exercise in simplicity and elegance, Tribeca Penthouse located on the top two floors of a six-story building was built in 1920. The design approach looked to stripping back the opulence yet keep the penthouse loft feel. A very early inspiration found in castle-like design and atmospheres, led to an emphasis in the monumental and commanding verticality of the space. This purposeful celebration of verticality creates an effortless cohesiveness within the space, masterfully achieved through the use vertical metal stair railings as well as the use of switch glass both for privacy purposes as well as to emphasize the height of the space. A true collaboration between client and architect, where the dialogue of design reigned fre... LINE-PLANE-PRISM | Loft addition to a penthouse

The progress achieved by systematic research will give birth to a dictionary of elements that, developed further, will lead to a “grammar”.W. Kandinsky, 1924, “Point and Line to Plane” A. ANALYSIS1.  A groundbreaking architectural vocabularyDefining the POINT and the LINE, W. Kandinsky and P. Klee have identified rich symbolic and conceptual content to these archetypal engravings. With their theoretical and painting work, the modern masters of abstraction laid the principles for a methodical composition on canvas, based on these primary Elements. What would the content of this radical vocabulary be if, reductively in some way, it was to be extended to the "3D canvas"?Extruded to the third dimension, the POINT, the LINE and the...
