The subtext of the design approach for Careland Pharmacy is the constant juxtaposition of ideas. In order to underline the clinical quality of the pharmacy, the shelves are in high gloss and sharp. The soft and sensual curve created by the 70 linear feet of the undulating shelves provide warmth and playfulness. The bright green floor, made of a pattern of band-aids hand drawn by Sergio Mannino with his typical sketching style bring warmth by introducing humor and a casual friendliness.   Similar juxtapositions are found in the visual identity and the communications. The large production pharmacy of the Erasmus MC Rotterdam is located at the A15 in Gorinchem. In the offices they used huge Digital Prints (60 m2). The theme of these photographs is the Rotterdam Skyline by night. They choose the skyline of Rotterdam because they wanted to show the connection between them and the Erasmus MC Rotterdam. Pharmacist Drs. C. H. Vermaat: “The atmospheric lights and beautiful colors give it a stunning result. We are very happy with it and get a lot of good comments. The picture is so sharp that you can even see the people in the buildings.
