Sergio Mannino Studio is a retail store design agency founded in 2008 by Sottsass-trained Sergio Mannino. The studio practices what it calls architectural branding: the brand's identity is expressed through the physical space itself, from materials and lighting to furniture, signage, and packaging.
The team brings together architects, graphic designers, product designers, and branding strategists. Recent retail and commercial work includes hair salons for Glam Seamless in SoHo, furniture for Stone Island (Moncler Group) in Hong Kong and Toronto, and the café and retail space A.MANO Brooklyn. The studio's pharmacy design practice began with Medly in Brooklyn and now includes Angel Care in Philadelphia and Health Choice.
Working across disciplines is central to how the studio thinks. Residential interior design, modern hand-knotted rugs, and furniture each bring material and spatial questions back into the commercial work, and the commercial work pushes them further than they would go on their own.
