As a part of the Northern Beaches (NSW) Council’s $3.4 million upgrade of facilities at Lionel Watts Reserve located in Belrose, Australia, Bijl Architecture was commissioned to design a new amenities pavilion that augmented the facilities contained in the adjacent 30-year old community centre. In 2014 Carve was invited by Idealiza Urbanismo to collaborate on the design for Parque Una, a new neighbourhood park in Pelotas (Brazil). From the outset it was clear that our strategy should focus on actively involving the community to create a neighborhood designed for and by the locals.
