Inhabiting the stable

Creation of an apartment in the rural section of a farmhouse in Praz-Pury The project involves the creation of an apartment in the partially disused rural part of a 1930s farmhouse. Fribourg farmhouses of that era housed both living quarters and farm functions under one roof. The rural section typically consisted of two stables flanking a central passageway — the fourragère — a through-space used for feeding livestock, which also benefited from additional height allowing hay to be stored above the stables. Tonkatsu Aoki - Central World

The design centers on the theme of “Humble Beginnings”, an ethos grounded in simplicity and restraint. Spatially, this is expressed through tactile materials, gentle light, and a layout that recalls the domestic intimacy of a traditional minka (Japanese folkhouse). The atmosphere leans into imperfection and earthiness, fostering a calm retreat within the city. Divided into two zones, the front features a kamameshi rice station, a visual and olfactory anchor where... More

Cranleigh Lodge

“A new definition of luxury and calm in the centre of the city.’’ Project Brief and LocationIn Cranleigh Lodge every detail is designed to distil the project to its essence, to emphasize balance and harmony rather than a superficial shine. The feeling of a peaceful sanctuary is provided by emotional design and its application with ultimately sophisticated detailing. The house stands behind a door framed by a distinctive classical stone portal. Although it is invisible from the bustling street, it lies as a hidden gem at the heart of Chelsea. Edvinas Bruzas As soon as you enter the garden, you are taken to a tranquil oasis, far from the commotion and chaos of the surrounding metropolis.Originally built as a smal... More

Residence 2105

Reminiscent of an older, simpler era, yet contemporary in spirit, Residence 2105 is essentially an extension to an existing residence. Initially designed keeping in mind a family of four, with time, as the family grew, a need was felt to expand the space to include two more bedrooms. The new construction was visualised as part of the first floor of the residence, which ultimately was designed to include a living, dining and kitchen space, turning the first-floor space into a comfortable, warm abode. The clients wanted to retain the old structure, being familiar and comfortable with the way they interacted with the functional spaces daily. And though the decision made economical sense, it also turned out to be the main challenge. The decisio... More

MARIN EDUCATIONAL CENTER

MARIN EDUCATIONAL CENTERRibersborgsstranden, MalmöThe marine educational center stretches out along Ribersborgsstranden shore, where city and landscape meet. A concrete floor is laid out level with the sand. Sand from the shore is mixed into the concrete to give it the same color and reflecting qualities. From the floor a constellation of solid volumes rise up to lift the room underneath the massive, reed-covered roof just above the horizon. The interstitial spaces created between the floor, the roof and the volumes open onto the surrounding nature, transmit light and provide visibility through towards the horizon. The activity of the marine educational center unfold for anyone who dwells on the shore, while at the same time this activity fr... More

Industrial Retail Store for Sovage

Industrial style interior design is a hot-bed for retail designs. Its sleek simplicity with a dash of raw appeal makes for the perfect backdrop for product displays. This is why a famous American clothing brand named SOVAGE asked CAS to design the interior of their retail flagship store based on industrial style. The store is based in the KSA, Riyadh and offers a unique industrial ambiance that fits the store brand name. In response, the CAS design team came up with a minimalistic store idea finished in contemporary raw materials. The modern industrial ambiance is extremely stylish and provides the perfect backdrop for the SOVAGE clothing products. http://www.comelite-arch.com/portfolio/industrial-retail-store-sovage-brand/ More
