Suite 115
It’s no question that you’re in the right place at Suite 115, a hidden cocktail bar in Toronto, Ontario. Defined by its moody glow, Atelier Sun designed the space with intimacy and traditional bar culture in mind. “We wanted to find the sweet spot between mystery and warmth” said principal, Andrew Sun, “it’s a space that ignites people’s curiosity.”
Joel Esposito
The bar is fronted by a lounge that faces the street. At dusk, a vibrant red glow spills out from the lounge, signalling the bar is open. This space appears to have captured the afterglow of sunset, reflecting the streetscape back in rich orange and red hues via a large, gradient mirror. Patrons can see their own reflection comb... Container into Classroom: German School of Budapest
The German School of Budapest is so successful that the need to expand its building arose once again. Due to the start of the new school year, a rapid response was required, so developing an existing container building to a higher quality, with an increased capacity and an architectural character befitting the built and natural environment was envisaged. Moreover, this solution fulfilled the need to minimise the impact on the environment during construction. The result is an economically and ecologically sustainable building.

The design is a creative response to the constraints and opportunities presented by the site, and Dulwich Estate requirements, resulting in an original take on the typical domestic extension project. The clever roof design articulates privacy, light and views to maximise enjoyment of the space and garden for the large family of seven.

Lakenveld Land van Winkel
The new ‘Land van Winkel’ quarter, an urban development plan in municipality Abcoude by landscape bureau La4Sale, borders on the north side with a 1070s expansion. On the south side the new quarter makes a transition to the surrounding peat river landscape. The ambitious quality plan sets out specific requirements for volume, plasticity, detail, material and color for each plot, so that each home differs from its neighbors. Partly because adjacent plans have been designed by different architects, a varied and apparently organically grown street scene with a village atmosphere is created.
