Catch your breath, feel deeply relaxed, enjoy nature, and experience grounding – these were the things on top of the list for the functional program of Hotel Saltus in San Genesio, near Bolzano. Every single design decision and choice of material was made with these fundamental principles in mind, which in the end lead to a harmonious and coherent project. The redesign of the shop at the Terme Merano spa included a complete remodelling of the ground floor in the northern part of the building. The aim was to improve both the aesthetics and the functionality of the rooms where sportswear, accessories and spa cosmetics can be purchased. The main design concept for this family house near Lisbon was to create a minimal, yet confortable and retrieved space, where outside and inside spaces could work as one. The separation between private and common areas of the house was possible by creating a long white wall, that worked as a frontier and enabled most of the storage in the house. This gesture brought clearness and organisation to the whole project. Usabilla’s new office is a hidden gem in the heart of Amsterdam’s city center. Recently, different departments have moved into the space to stimulate collaboration. Besides improving interaction between teams, the office also needed to be ‘a fun place.’ The resulting design is an office with a high degree of transparency, offering diverse workplace settings. These range from various types of meeting rooms, phone booths to focus rooms. Break-out areas, equipped with games and sports equipment, create a distraction from the daily routines and allow for recreation and relaxation in order to re-energize. The office space is bright due to the amount of glass and the central atrium with skylight. The demand for new relexation rooms with panoramic views was high – and the space on the roof was just perfect for this.From here, you can see the unique 360° mountain panorama to the mountain Loser and the Dachstein-Glacier. Located south of Owatonna, Minnesota along I-35W near the Straight River in Steel County, this is one of Minnesota Department of Transportation’s (MnDOT) last rest areas in the southern plains of Minnesota prior to the more urban rest areas to the north.  The project is expanding the growing need of commercial traffic and parking as well as new rest area facilities, recreation areas and picnic shelters. This contemporary pool house offers year round relaxation, with stunning views over Stockholm’s archipelago. But creating the perfect indoor environment meant overcoming a few challenges. Architect David Wettergren was looking for a material that would reduce sound reflections from hard surfaces and parallel walls. He solved the problem by installing BAUX designs. The wood-wool BAUX tiles reduced sound reflections and added a finishing touch to this serene space. The BAUX designs made a visual statement that the client loved.
