House I, La Moraleja

This house is located on a privileged plot of 15,000m2 densely populated with pine and oak trees. The aim of the design is to integrate into the landscape and to promote, through architecture, an intimate family life linked to nature. It is also intended to offer a space for enjoying social life linked to the landscape. Caption Caption Caption Caption The house is organized first of all as a courtyard house in which the rooms look at each other through the courtyard in a sort of subtle panopticon that avoids the human disconnection typical of very large houses and that we want to avoid at all costs. A large almond tree in the courtyard changes with the seasons, linking the life of the house to the time of nature. The ot... More

Moradia Unifamiliar na Praia Oura

The Single-Family House in Praia Oura is built perpendicular to Rua Ramalho Ortigão and occupies the central area of the plot. The present proposal aims to build a four-bedroom single-family house that will fit into plot 7, oriented in a north-south direction. Hra-Lisboa Hra-Lisboa Coming from Rua Ramalho Ortigão, the only pedestrian access to the house is at a height of 15.42 m, where a regulatory ramp starts inside the plot, reaching a height of 15.62 m. These values arise from the need to bring the ground floor as close as possible to the natural profile of the land and significantly reduce the difference in height between the northern and southern slopes. Hra-Lisboa Hra-Lisboa Based on the urban param... More

Hearth House

The project transforms a small eighteenth-century storehouse into a modern dwelling, blending restoration with contemporary design. The original three main facades are preserved while leveraging necessary repairs to introduce a new north-facing wall for indirect sunlight and modern amenities. Max Creasy Max Creasy Max Creasy Localized interventions compact all necessary new functions, making the building fit for inhabitation while maintaining historical integrity. Additionally, a reconfigured hearth, crafted out of reused bricks from the derelict baker oven, remains a focal point, marrying functionality with historical significance. The industrial aesthetic of the interior reflects the building's original utilitarian functio... More

Geode ADU

Geode ADU is a small (640 square feet) recently completed accessory dwelling unit that supplements and contrasts an existing mid-century modern Eichler house in Burlingame, CA. The client's brief requested a design for a writing studio and guest unit, as a 'place apart' from the main house and also an inspiring work of architecture -- both in its exterior form and materials, and in its interior spatial character. The design response evolved as a very particular three-dimensional form, with a polygonal plan and a section inflected to both slope and view.  Helping to further shape the design were an unusually-shaped lot with significant topography which impacts the buildable footprint; strict zoning constraints regarding setbacks, size a... C&P House

Positioned at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac and overlooking the ocean at North Curl Curl, the owners purchased the home to be able to see and hear the ocean. However, the outdated house did not capitalise on the spectacular views, the flow and symmetry were awkward, with areas of dead and underutilised space. The owners, who were temporarily based overseas, came to Archisoul looking for a major renovation of the home to make it beautiful as well as functional and to take full advantage of the stunning views. The design brief was to re-align the home and for the sound and sight of the ocean to take priority. With bedrooms and living areas mixed between the two levels, the design decision was taken to separate the living areas from bedroom a... More

Bacatete House

This project is governed by the idea of creating an urban home that transports you to a different place, away from the city, through a sensory experience. With this objective, we created an environment inside the property in which both the house and the outdoor spaces coexist and permeate the indoor-outdoor relationship. This was achieved by designing gardens that surround the house and create paths between nature and the building materials themselves, such as wood, stone, exposed concrete, carbon steel plate and glass. In this way, the outdoor paths, which although they are simple due to the property’s dimensions, delineate a shift away from the city. We used different materials with rich, warm, and primitive textures for the exterio... More

TT1 - CREMONA

A residential project in the city of Cremona, comprising a mixture of single-room and double-room flats, large-scale quarters. The desing by architects Giorgio Palù and Michele Bianchi, features a number of accreations to the cube-like regularity of the building block which break up the frontage on the avenue side and affect room arrangement within. In keeping with the apparent simplicity of outline is a subtle personalising of the exterior achieved through technical dexterity. The regular modular layout of the inside volumes is a focus that shifts as the room arrangement interlocks and overlaps. Within the limited scale of an interior there thus form slanting vistas with surprising colour effects and see-through walls extending the ra... More
