Designed for a young couple Mr Vivek and Aditi Bali, The Bali Residence is a minimalistic apartment that combines casual living with Eastern European aesthetics.  For our studio this project has been a great exercise in establishing a strong clear design concept and then following it through to create a pertinent spatial aesthetics. When the clients approached The Design Chapel for the complete overhaul of their newly bought 2BHK residence, a conceptual and a contextual design process was explored where every decision gets governed by a robust underlying design language. The project is located in a 3160 square meter area in Kooy-e-Faraz neighborhood. The main approach of the project is to dialogue with Le Corbusier's projects. The concept of the project is "The house as a machine for living". Accordingly, transform of five Corbusian points, methods of geometry and proportions have been applied. Considering construction boundary, the schematic design of the project is emerged from intersecting two squares. Bukan neighborhood is located in the North of Tehran, Iran; and the grounds high slope and tall dense trees are the two of its geographical characteristics. Lots of old houses with green yards exist in this neighborhoods’ alleys. The Collage Apartment is placed inside this context.The building has four floors on top of a solid rock bed. A large yard with gardens is in between the alley and the building. Text description provided by the architects. The Safari Residential Project is located at the southeast of Shiraz, one of the oldest part of the city. Today, the attention of the architects in the city is more focused on the wealthy areas and there is a lack of innovative projects in such poor areas. The site context’s situation is in decline, and architecture is being oblivious, which has affected the city fabric structure and visual aspect of the region.
