Spark Lodges at YDD Resort
The project was initiated due to the popularity of summer river-trekking at Jinkeng Village, a chill-out place where people would love to find a comfortable lodge to stay overnight compared to a tent. Given the fact that the village is part of Liuyang (Hunan, China), a city world-renowned for its fireworks industry, the concept of fusing contemporary industrial materials with natural and rural surroundings began to take shape.

Caves & Waves
THE IDEA
A landscape characterised by sparse, mostly low and bushy vegetation. Few trees – mostly cedars - are visible in the region. A harsh, dry, rocky, Mediterranean landscape with earthy colourations. A sloping landscape, eroded at its lowest point by constant direct contact with the sea. The natural formations and cavities of the rocky terrain, created by the long-term exposure to the sea water, were the starting point for the compositional design.
