ANSITZ SEISENSTEIN

The spirit of a new living idea creates a modern loft in a historical building at the city centre of Merano. The roof construction represents the heart of this project, increases its value and preserves the inner and the outer character of the building. By lifting the roof up from the brickwork, an open space emerges which creates a glazed frame for the loft where the light can freely penetrate the rooms. At the front of the building, the elimination of the gable creates the space for a terrace without losing its characteristic face. The interior gets its charm from the already existing external walls in combination with the roof construction and the new elements built out of black steel. More

Villa Charleston

Originally the plot is occupied by a school composed of adjoining buildings - a 1910s villa, converted into school offices, a building of classes of 2 levels, 1930s, and two low wings  from the same time.  The whole is quite heterogeneous, unbalanced and off scale in its suburban environment. The buildings are restructured and intended for housing. Two challenges are presented to the architect. Reintegrate the composition into its urban setting and give it consistency and character. It is naturally the ArtDeco spirit that will be put forward. The buildings are deeply restructured, raised and rebalanced by new bodies. The ensemble gains harmony and becomes a welcoming element on one of the points of entry into this city distr... More

The Meurthe et Moselle Departmental media library

The Meurthe et Moselle Departmental media library, heart of a network of small reading structures and proximity, is intended to accommodate reading professionals. More than a media library, its goal is to train and inform these different people, following the principle of lending and reading spaces. The departmental library of Laxou therefore positions itself as a departmental center for public reading, with a fully assumed educational role. The building is located in a sparsely populated urban area which has been developing slowly since the 1970s, consisting of individual houses (in the middle of the plot) and buildings such as the Prouvé College on the neighboring plot. The vegetation is quite present on and around the plot, includin... More

Renovation of an old farm into private and guest h

The project was born from the owners’ desire to accommodate people who are eager to discover their green and history-charged territory. It is located on a large plot of land, in a valley that once formed the Maginot Aquatic Line (a defensive system that allowed the valley to be flooded in order to block enemies). Five ponds remain to this day, where French and German fishermen fish side by side in amongst numerous bunkers.Above all It is about a very large garden that the owner shapes in the manner of Gilles Clément. It is composed of a stream, an arboretum, an orchard, a pond, hedges and grassy meadows. It is inhabited by many animal species, including birds. The farm house is typical of the Lorraine region with its usoir (area in front of t... More

Restructuring of the Lunéville Multimedia Library

The project consists in the complete restructuring of the two existing levels of the Orangerie media library in Lunéville. The goal was to completely modify its layout in order to modernise it and allow exchanges and transversal practices between all the different protagonists. The challenge was also to “give back” the media library to the neighbourhood and the street, making it more open to the outside — a media library is, after all, a window onto the outside world. After removing the old extension forming the entrance, which completely distorted the primary volume of the building, we opened the facades in the continuity of the existing half-moons.These openings are set on the basement stones and give the staff and visitors of the me... House restructuration

This house from 1935 is located on the edge of the hillside of the city. Four rooms with a total area of 37 m2, surmounted the ancie ngarage where the soil was clay. The house proved too small and did not show the expected comfort. The project was built by carving subspaces at different heights in the existing volume by offering a true spacial continuity . The client was convinced by discovering the project with a model . The new living space is 80 m2. The project is direct relationship four levels by organizing a volume set double height nested in each other.
