Notre‑Dame‑du‑Paradis Elementary School stands in the rural municipality of Dudswell, in the Eastern Townships of Québec, as a typical 1960s school building set within a scenic landscape of fields and forests. The renovation and expansion project extends the life of this familiar structure by introducing new learning and sports facilities, while significantly improving accessibility and upgrading the existing building envelope and systems.

Luminous Library
"Light" is the origin of enlightenment, the source of truth. It spills from the heavens, coalescing at the heart of the library, forming rings of knowledge that ripple outwards like concentric circles.
Design Action
This light not only illuminates every corner of the space but also symbolizes the wisdom and revelation bestowed by the divine, guiding students to find their direction within the vast sea of books. The Confluence Library
The river of knowledge flows gently and continuously, winding through depths and twists, as if countless streams converge to weave a vast river of wisdom. Shelves meander like riverbanks, filled with abundant collections, cleverly dividing space to weave a three-dimensional map of learning for students.

On the river's surface, a small boat stands quietly—its bookshelf shaped like a sail billowing in the wind—symbolizing students embarking on a journey of knowledge, riding the winds and breaking waves. The boat glides slowly through the shimmering sea of books, guiding every seeker to navigate freely through the torrent of knowledge, seeking that inspiring shore within their hearts.

Welcome to the Oasis! That is the feeling generated by Northgo College's new space. It is a learning space with an open inviting library where students enjoy coming, being and staying. It is a place that encourages reading and socialising.

At times when reading is less and less popular, Northgo College took the initiative to encourage reading and asked KuóStudio to find a good solution.

In our interior design, the library is relocated to a room adjacent to the central learning space. By applying (semi-transparent) folding doors between the learning space and the library, the library becomes part of it.
