Morgan Creek Estate
At Morgan Creek Estate in Isle of Palms, South Carolina, the architecture defined the lighting solution. The dramatic cathedral ceiling called for a fixture that could occupy the exceptional vertical space while remaining light, refined and visually connected to the warm coastal interior.
Working with Herlong Architects + Interiors, we created a custom Sunbeam chandelier composed of 42 handcrafted glass pendants in our White 124 glass. The pendants descend at varying heights through a 16.5-foot drop, creating a sculptural composition above the grand piano and main living space.

The Malika collection includes 2 models (Wahad and Joosh), which are available in 4 sizes and 16 standard colours (in solid or two-colour formats) making the options almost endless.
They are suitable for residential and commercial spaces as a single feature pendant lamp or hung together in pairs, groups or clusters of like or different models, sizes and colours.
Each lamp is handcrafted by women in a small village community near Marrakech. By partnering with these women we aim to help keep their traditional skills alive and create a brighter future for them and their families.
The sculptural shapes are inspired by objects used in daily Moroccan life, like tagines, baskets, and pots. More

Olderfleet by Grimshaw Architects and Carr is driven by opposing forces of old and new, dark and light
Located in the centre of Melbourne’s CBD, Olderfleet by Grimshaw Architects is a 58,000 sq m PCA Premium Grade office tower. Set back from three heritage-listed buildings, the 40-storey building is a juxtaposition of old and new and drives a narrative anchored on binary oppositions and the passage of time. The architectural vision is complemented by an interior architecture approach from Carr that provides comfort and convenience that is comparable to a luxury hotel.

Sculptural lights
These sculptural lights have been made out of (1 mm) Corten steel. Their height is approximately 3,5 meters. For the design I got inspired by the German photographer Karl Blossfeldt; in his work plants and flowers look as if they were made out of steel.
Since Corten steel only can be bought in sheets every part has to be rolled or hammered into the right shape and dimensions. For me there is a basic resemblance with working with paper: cutting, folding and gluing it together.
Working as a sculptor the actual making of these individual objects is part of the designing: the last decisions about shape, angle and dimensions are being made before the final assembly. More
