Macy's Downtown Building: The Wheeler

This major reuse project transforms three historic buildings constructed over 140-plus years into an office and educational environment located in Downtown Brooklyn. The redesign combines 680,000 square feet through façade restoration, partial demolition, and new construction. It includes the addition of 11 floors, plus a penthouse level, with terraces and rooftop spaces. Chadstone Art Facade

JCB collaborated with Australian artist Matthew Johnson to design an extensive art facade concealing an existing four level carpark structure at Chadstone Shopping Centre. Peter Bennetts Matthew’s painterly approach to the facade captures the motion of flowing fabrics, a nod to Chadstone’s identity as Australia’s fashion capital. Pickering Town Centre

Located in Pickering, Ontario, the Pickering Town Centre was renovated in 2009 and re-imaged to encapsulate a unifying “leaf motif”. Featured at the six entrances of the shopping center, as well as on the interior elevator, ALPOLIC ACM panels were chosen to highlight the new additions. Cladco Ltd. For the design, a monochromatic color scheme was used to juxtapose a white ALPOLIC ACM leaf cutout with contrasting black ALPOLIC panels. Three of the entrances utilized a hung panel design system by which the leaf panels were attached to 18” protruding steel rods using a finished panel edge. Oneworks was commissioned to design a new luxury outlet destination to support the local community and tourism from local towns. The project assumptions originate with the territorial context, in addition to the commercial objectives. Context is the interventions topography, which uses the hillside to create a "vertical" complex.
