JCB collaborated with Australian artist Matthew Johnson to design an extensive art facade concealing an existing four level carpark structure at Chadstone Shopping Centre.
Matthew’s painterly approach to the facade captures the motion of flowing fabrics, a nod to Chadstone’s identity as Australia’s fashion capital.
The use of a perforated panelised system on a steel substructure utilises smart building technology.
The outcome is a friendly, permeable and accessible community destination, incorporating new and existing landscaping into the design while enhancing Chadstone’s brand identity.
