Istrian Cultural Center Izola
To boost the new cultural quarter of the Slovenian city Izola, our proposed design for the Istrian Cultural Centre is guided by the concept of connection. Carefully positioned in the urban and natural fabric of the harbor city, the building connects the city with the seaside, bridges the gap between the historic center in the north and the newly developed tourist areas in the south, and links practitioners and visitors of various art forms. We designed the beating heart of Izola’s cultural quarter featuring a wide variety of spaces, from a small café and a book shop to exhibition spaces and a full-scale theatre hall.

Milka Boutique Hotel
In the heart of Julian Alps, the old guesthouse Milka got a new life. Restaurant occupies the ground floor together with the outside terrace offering gorgeous vistas over the Alpine Lake Jasna and the Julian Alps. Reception, one suite and a private sauna occupies the basement. 5 elegantly equipped rooms occupy the other floors.

Located in the heart of the Triglav National Park in the lush Bohinj Valley of northwestern Slovenia, the newly opened Hotel Bohinj stands as both historical monument and sleek contemporary expression of cutting-edge eco-design. Formerly the Hotel Kompas, built in 1972 and having undergone two awkward and partial renovations since then, the property has been revitalized and reimagined via extensive structural and interior renovations by OFIS Architects in collaboration with energy entrepreneur Damian Merlak.
