The design of a small house on a theoretically large plot (1220m2) although seemingly easy, was a significant design challenge for us. Although the plot is large, only the part with an area of 382.5 m2 is a plot that can be built on (according to the local spatial development plan). The building part of the plot has a triangular shape, which in combination with the other parameters from the local spatial development plan (including at least 45% of biologically active area and at least 2 parking spaces for passenger cars) was a significant limitation but also a challenge.

La Mini
Architects Francesca Morsiani and Mujgan Merve Rinaldi designed La Mini with a proposed location in Nevsehir, Turkey surrounded by mountains. The rectangular structure is clad in dark brown vertical panels interspersed with floor-to-ceiling windows for a sleek, minimalist exterior.

The design idea was to create a small, efficient and welcoming house. In an area of about 45sqm, it contains minimum living requirements: a bedroom, bathroom and the living/dining/kitchen area as a single space.

SP Family
Considering the growing and educational environment for the kid, the owner couple bought this two-bedroom project located right in the city center.
Being very particular about aesthetics and home design, the couple hopes this space a warm and well-designed residence. Thus, for the overall color scheme, we choose relaxing green, warm gray and wooden elements as layout, and then use different materials to create and build a sense of delicacy.
The designer uses a grid-style ceiling to decorate the porch, building a strong three-dimensional layer. Mosaic hexagonal bricks on the ground create a simple and casual neat style. And, the large mirror aside plays a functional role, visually broadening this narrow porch.

House 1 is situated in Tromøy, an island on the south coast of Norway, characterised by pine forests, rocky beaches and wild shores. Following the purchase of a heritage home our client asked us to find a way to transform the existing building with it’s compartmentalised spaces into a comfortable, free flowing and spacious family living zone.

Nguyen Khai Architects & Associates propose a minimalist design solution for the renovation of a tiny urban house
In the centre of Hue City (Vietnam), Tiam is a small, 18-year house renovated by Nguyen Khai Architects & Associates. With a gross build floor area of only 35 sqm, the main design challenge was to provide a more spacious and efficient living space for a three-generational family of seven members. The renovated home has a total of three floors, one attic, one balcony and a terrace. On the first floor, there is a café, which is run by the owner.
