In the picturesque suburbs of Kyiv, a private house has become home to a family of four and their cat. Designed as a family retreat, the project embraces color, texture, and detail to create a layered and expressive living space.
The architects and clients spent considerable time searching for the right solution, from building plots to existing houses. The chosen property stood out for its well-planned layout and potential for transformation. Mahogany House: Multigenerational Home
In the Mount Waverley suburb of Melbourne, Australia, R ARCHITECTURE has designed Mahogany House, a multigenerational family home arranged around a highly efficient plan. The building’s design responds to a mature mahogany tree at the rear of the site, a key feature in the experience of the finished abode. Mahogany House is home to Vish and Gaurav Rajadhyax, co-founders of R ARCHITECTURE, an Australian studio passionate about bringing good design to suburban settings.

Casa FRN
Simple lines that hide a complex architecture and a luminous spatiality.The FRN House is located in front of the golf course of the Club Universidad de Buenos Aires in the gated community CUBA.
The requirements for the project were very ambitious. The clients wanted a house with a tight surface area of no more than 350 sqmt, but they wanted a wide variety of spaces, all of which should be spacious and generously sized. Finally we agreed on the architectural program: a master suite with dressing room, three bedrooms en suite for the children, living room, dining room, kitchen, quincho, playroom, laundry room, a storage room and a maid’s room.

Garden Room Extension, Eskbank, Midlothian
This Victorian villa in Eskbank, Midlothian, was in good condition, with a mature rear garden, however the main public rooms were at the front. The property had an original one storey extension at the rear, which housed a kitchen, numerous pantries and a conservatory - all on different levels.

NORM House challenges generic notions of the suburban home
NORM by Alain Carle Architecte is a renovation and extension of an existing single-family residence that breaks with the generic notion of a suburban house, which is often built without real consideration toward its context. The house is located in the city of Baie-D’Urfe, on the southwestern end of the island of Montreal, Canada. Originally agricultural in nature, the town emerged as a more traditional suburb after the Second World War.
