At the third floor of the family home from the 1950s where the family of architect Francesco Valentini has been living since, this attic was originally divided into rooms as if it were to be made habitable, but was never completed.Before the renovation, the parcelling of the space was strict and the rooms clearly separated, with a load-bearing wall running along the entire floor plan. In order to remedy this division that made the place cramped and unlivable, the architect decided to intervene by knocking down all the walls in the living area and rationalising the sleeping area. Existing holes between the two were retained and no new separations were built.

Comfort is a new range of sliding and swing doors offering a variety of refined and elegant solutions suitable for all interior design needs. The range has two models, Prima with a smooth panel and Sound, enhanced with two horizontal inserts in satin-finished steel. Comfort doors are designed for Scrigno door frames, in versions with single or double sliding doors and conventional swing doors. Swing doors in particular have technical characteristics of an exceptionally high level, including concealed hinges and a magnetic lock. The doors of the Essential by Scrigno range are swinging doors designed with the Wall-Door System, without edging trims.
The door blends even more integrally into its surroundings, creating continuity with the walls, which become the unmistakable protagonists of the space, while the door is perceived as being totally amalgamated into the wall.
The distinctive feature of Essential swinging doors is their possibility of giving continuity to environments, and door panels can be painted, lacquered or covered with wallpaper, exactly like the finishes already existing. The door can even be finished differently on each side, adapting it perfectly to the space of which it is part.
