Tea room

"Renovation and Authenticity" A four-and-a-half-tatami-mat tea ceremony room was designed in a condominium unit. The client is an Omotesenke (a member of the Omotesenke school of tea ceremony) and is familiar with the tea ceremony. The client wanted a tea room that could be used for tea ceremonies, and while the design was in the "Gyo" style, as in "Shin", "Gyo", and "Sou" for Japanese tea room styles, it was also in harmony with the interior of the relatively new condominium. The teahouse is nestled on a tea field, Lu Yu Tea Cultural Campus, Xisaishan Resort, Huzhou, China, in a Subtropical Monsoon Climate, floating south of hills, service for a cultural resort. Where Lu Yu (733-804) wrote <The Classic of Tea> and lived in seclusion, the resort plans a series of teahouses in the various landscapes, including tea fields, hills, lakeside, and forests. The Cloud Tea Room especially settled on a hillside, the highest site in the resort. According to the popular Chinese legend, the discovery of tea was a wonderful coincidence attributed to the Chinese Emperor Sheng Nung, who happened to be resting under the shadows of a wild tree when a light breeze blew a few leafs off the branches and into a bowl of boiling water nearby creating an aromatic infusion which made the Emperor decide to try it and be captivated by its flavour. Hejidesign partnered with East Asia Qianhai once again to add a bit of cultural and artistic flair to their sales area.  The image on the door uses the same color as the East Asia Qianhai’s corporate bond — a light gray panel with a red logo. Fully transparent floor-to-ceiling glass panels create an open and collaborative feeling, and offer a glimpse into the company’s quiet, focused atmosphere. A pure white color scheme penetrates the reception area, which also serves as a multi-functional open space.
