Vaslab builds on the design concept from Amanda Levete Architects to connect the public footpath to the interior of the buildings. The result is a 3-storey building that has three separated masses. In the front, two masses are of unequal sizes, appearing as though the buildings were cut and separated until space was created. The second floor open courtyard that is connected through a staircase nearby the project entrance, makes it easier for passers-by to be persuaded into the park as the concept intended. Located in the center of Frankfurt am Main’s business district, Marienforum offices feature spaces with strong personality and character. The design concept of the main areas are the result of combining different diagonal patterns and materials such as wood, bronze-colored metal, marble, and terrazzo. The apartment, in Porta Venezia district, is located inside an early twentieth century building, whose corner position has clearly influenced the layout. The project is based on the balance between memory and innovation, traditional finishes and industrial solutions. The apartment is located on the top floor of a 1970s building in Varese. The project has the aim of enhancing the apartment’s strengths such as brightness and generous spaces. The redevelopment project of the Pascoli School in Turin takes up the challenge of bringing innovative teaching within the walls of a protected historic building, permeated by structural and cultural constraints, eliminating the barriers between the classroom and distribution spaces that become inhabited environments. Internationally acclaimed RIBA award-winning architectural designer John Pawson, creator of the new home of the Design Museum which opens in November 2016, has been commissioned by Living Architecture to create The Life House. The retreat is in a peaceful Welsh Valley, conceived as a space for calm and reflection.
