Cabin Above the Valley

Designed for a three-generation family, the Cabin Above the Valley explores the legacy of a preexisting house, blending into a strictly protected national park while opening up to panoramic valley views. Alex Shoots Buildings Vítězslav Kůstka Alex Shoots Buildings Alex Shoots Buildings In the beginning, there was the clients' determination to build a base to enjoy the mountains together as a family. Pirate's Yacht

Extension for a bathing hut in Greifenstein on the Danube The allotment garden settlement “Greifenstein” next to a dead arm of the Danube River has a special charm. The first residents in the 1920s to 60s were very creative when building their bathing huts themselves. Since it is a flood area, all houses must be built on pillars. Christoph Panzer Christoph Panzer All of them were made of wood and the size was reduced to the essentials. Visitors are reminded of Peter Pan's Neverland or beach huts on the California coast. With our two-story extension to one of these huts, originally known as "pirate house", we want to honor this style. Portholes, big windows and terraces on all levels also make this hut a unique, imagin... More

The Valley is created when two Mountains are turned towards each other. The space between the Mountains forms a closed public indoor area that can be used by the community as an outdoor space.
