Railway Station Ebreichsdorf
The new railway station was completed in 2023, and the railway line that previously divided the town now runs on a new alignment between Ebreichsdorf and the district of Unterwaltersdorf on an elevated route. In the context of the municipality's spatial and development planning, this location was chosen because the two communities are expected to gradually merge over the coming years, and future development opportunities and prospects regarding the connection of the urban areas and the integration of the new railway station were to be comprehensively considered from the outset.

Located at Vienna’s Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof, AQ1 Althan Quartier Francis transforms a late twentieth-century railway station into a contemporary mixed-use urban district while retaining the architectural value and embodied carbon of the existing structure.
The project by Delugan Meissl Associated Architects and Josef Weichenberger Architekten demonstrates how large-scale regeneration can prioritise adaptive reuse over demolition, balancing environmental responsibility with changing urban requirements. Rather than replacing the station complex, the intervention builds upon its structural logic, creating a more permeable and publicly accessible neighbourhood centre.

Pickering GO Pedestrian Bridge
Located in Pickering just east of Toronto, this major pedestrian bridge over Highway 401 and CN rail lines connects the GO train transit station on the south side to parking and commercial development to the north. Constructed of a simple exposed truss and clad in perforated metal panels, the undulating sculptural form provides dramatic framed views east and west along the highway. Programmable LED lighting creates vibrant changing light patterns at night.
When Teeple Architects commissioned me, we immediately discussed aerial photography as a way to showcase the sheer length of the pedestrian bridge, as well as the context, from local buildings to the nearby Ontario lake, all the way to the Toronto skyline.
