The East Harlem School is an independent, not-for-profit, year-round middle school that recruits students from low-income families in East Harlem. The school provides scholarships for all enrolled students. It is the first independent school to have been built in the Harlem community in decades. The school is committed to maintaining an intimate cohort of students, in which each is recognized as an individual and as a contributor to the community.   This dual purpose is echoed in the design of the building. Located in the borough of Pintendre on the outskirts of Lévis, the new 1,500 sq. m. fire station houses eight fire trucks. The concept developed by the architects began with a splitting of the station’s functions, which can be seen by the different volume heights between the garage and the living spaces. The contemporary building is simple in its form and in the materials used, with black aluminum cladding punctuated by silver parts and large glass sections. The entrances are marked by small wooden boxes that continue inside the fire station. While there are countless examples of bird watching structures around the world, there are none dedicated to the observation of flamingos in their nesting habitats. Traditional birdwatch structures tend to take enthusiasts up in altitude close to the tree canopies where birds nest and rest. The new building sits between, and connects to, two existing school buildings, improving access to both and providing ‘connective tissue’ for the whole school. To the northwest of the site, a new double-height entrance and reception space is formed at the junction of new and old. Here, Panton House, a two-storey Victorian building has been refurbished to form a new reception and office spaces, linked to the main building by a lightweight glazed bridge. This forms a new ‘porter’s lodge’ style gateway to the school, providing views into the site and allowing the school to engage with the street. Designing for an architect, by architects, was and always will be a challenge, as we sought to create a practical, functional and timeless home. This trend became key in the conceptual development of the party. Clear volumes and pure geometries gave the design party rationality and harmony. The house was distributed in three blocks: function, connect and dwell. Furthermore, the consistent application of concrete and wood created harmony, as this uniform materiality creates a sense of integration.  The volumes overlap by intersecting the blocks, slab to slab. The GGL house, located in the city of São Paulo, was designed for a young couple. Its terrain, narrow and long, 10m x 30m, was deployed in such a way as to make the most of the space as possible. The upper volume of the residence appears as a rereading of the traditional houses, with their design in gable roof, respecting the language of the adjacent houses of the neighborhood. It is only a house. It has dead straight walls, simple rooms, a flat roof, a garden and it looks relaxed over Chemnitz ... It goes without saying. And yet it is a little exotic - in Chemnitz, in Saxony. It is of course different.Located on a slope, hidden behind large, old deciduous trees, the house nestles in the grounds. The basement serves as an inconspicuous pedestal and lets the upper floor project daringly. Three-sided, the living and sleeping area encloses a 60m ² large wooden terrace. This flows immediately further into the robust and naturally created Hanggarten with stones and grasses.
