Ithaca New York’s Cornell University Computing and Information Sciences (CIS) program was in desperate need of a space that facilitated collaboration between its faculty and students. To create just the space, Cornell University hired Morphosis architectural firm to design an exclusive CIS program building named, the Bill and Melinda Gates Hall. To meet the needs of the students and faculty, it was vital for the building to feature copious amounts of natural light and open spaces. FIVE Palm Jumeirah
On the west coast of The Palm Jumeirah artificial island in Dubai, the FIVE Palm Jumeirah Hotel is almost emerging from the sea. The two identical wings of the hotel are separated by an imposing arched gate and a horizontal pool, which creates a seemingly aquatic corridor. Heading from the mainland of the island to the coast, the targeted search for the view led to the vertical layout of 477 rooms, 221 apartments on the sides of the building with gradual declining growth and ends in 6 beach villas.
