La Trobe University’s twin building student accommodation development brings 624 new student beds to its eastern residential precinct and forms a key part of an ambitious plan to transform their Bundoora campus into a University City of the Future.

The buildings form two sweeping arcs, creating strong edges to the campus ‘street’ network and a large central ‘private’ courtyard space. A transparent glazed curtain wall for communal spaces and continuous perimeter seating create pedestrian scale and encourage students to informally sit, gather and engage with the buildings and broader street context.

Lofts at Mercer Landing
Overlooking the stadium at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, you will find an expansive roof top recreation area atop a university housing complex. The expansive recreational roof deck common area was completed with Duradek Heritage Agate with cool roof qualities. Applied with adhesives, the 6 ft widths of vinyl sheets were heat welded for a completely water-tight seal. Duradek is installed only by applicators that are trained in the techniques required to integrate the membrane into the building envelope.

Citrus Hall, the new University of La Verne residence and dining hall facility creates unique student success driven living and academic experiences for freshman students on campus.With an eye on recruitment and retention, the University of LaVerne looked to Steinberg Hart to design a new campus quad, envisioned as a hub of student activity and student life. Linking the campus center and Vista La Verne housing, it offers the first dining facility on campus and a large open green space for interaction and community.
