SAUVAGE VELVET
SAUVAGE VELVET is a jacquard velvet for upholstery with an animal-inspired design. This exquisite pattern creates a striped effect using the ombré technique. Ombré velvet is a fabric that features a smooth and gradual transition between two colours, creating a “gradient” effect. The word ombré comes from French and means “shaded.” This effect is achieved through a complex weaving technique that gives it a gradient appearance, making the fabric visually rich and luxurious. Australia’s first purpose-built centre for LGBTQI+ communities in Australia offers a diverse range of community services behind a distinctly tubular façade
In Melbourne’s beachside suburb of St Kilda, the Victorian Pride Centre is the first purpose-built centre for LGBTQI+ communities in Australia. With a distinctly tubular facade, the five-story building offers the queer community access to various services and safe spaces. Brearley Architects and Urbanists and Grant Amon Architects were chosen to design the Victorian Pride Centre following an open call competition in 2018.
