Meat Concept Store
A modern butcher's shop, a dining space, and an event venue. The Meat Concept Store is all these and manages to combine its different uses and functions successfully.

In Hlincea, Romania, in the province of Iași, the Meat Concept Store attracts attention with its industrial design. The aluminium curtain wall system, which covers the entire façade, plays a key role in bridging the gap between interior and exterior and offers high energy efficiency, static stability, and security. Natural light floods the building, and the unobstructed view of the green spaces significantly enhances the customer's experience.

Coda Nightclub
Metcalfe provided design services for Coda- a Rittenhouse Square live performance venue, nightclub, and event space. The venue regularly showcases live performances and DJ sets from some of the newest, most talented artists in music, and hosts acts that span many genres — from indie rock to electronic, tribute acts, jam bands, pop, and more.
Coda features large unobstructed wall space, soaring ceilings, and a unique “Victorian meets Industrial” design scheme. The venue is modular and adaptable while measuring in over 12,000 square feet with multiple areas that can be divided into smaller, more intimate spaces.

Harbin Opera House
MAD Architects unveils the completed Harbin Opera House, located in the Northern Chinese city of Harbin. In 2010, MAD won the international open competition for Harbin Cultural Island, a master plan for an opera house, a cultural center, and the surrounding wetland landscape along Harbin’s Songhua River. The sinuous opera house is the focal point of the Cultural Island, occupying a building area of approximately 850,000 square feet of the site’s 444 acres total area. It features a grand theater that can host over 1,600 patrons and a smaller theater to accommodate an intimate audience of 400.
