Life Bridge
The existence of the Qasr-dasht segregated gardens and Chamran gardens on both sides of the project site, led the idea of binding two adjacent areas together. This project creates a continuous green network and make the bridge more integrated to the context. Shiraz City has a unique historical characteristic. The purpose of creating a connection between this bridge as new urban element with the historical urban context was to maintain a necessity to survive the historical identity from the current builder type development of the city. Structural work on Sou Fujimoto’s Hungarian House of Music is completed
In the designs for the highly anticipated House of Hungarian Music project Sou Fujimoto aims to dissolve the boundaries between the building and the Városliget park surrounding it. The key element is a large floating canopy structure punctured with holes that represents sound waves.

The voids function as light wells to flood the interiors with natural light in the same way as the foliage of trees. The park gradually changes into a big floating roof that Sou Fujimoto describes as an “architectural forest”.

State Office de Knoop
The Knoopkazerne in the center of Utrecht dates from 1989 and served for decades as headquarters for the Royal Netherlands Army. The building has now been radically transformed into a combined office and meeting center for the national government. Commissioned by the consortium R Creators with Strukton, Ballast Nedam and Facilicom, cepezed produced the architectural design. Fokkema & Partners Architects was involved for the interior design and Rijnboutt for the urban design component.The original complex was characterized by a pronounced multitude of volumes with varying heights and floor dimen- sions as well as meandering façades with a smoke glass sun-blind. Van Noort
The typical plan lay-out with a collection of small-scaled separate rooms is continued in this renovation project that respects the room-based lay-out. Every room has its own floor finishing and ceiling type so the different rooms get an even more distinct character.
Large openings in walls, ceilings and facades ensure that the different rooms have a strong spatial and visual connection. Daylight enters in unexpected places and visual links exist between spaces that normally don’t have a visual relation. The openings between the different rooms are clear visual frames and function as a passage, the white floor strips between the rooms constituting a threshold between the rooms.
