Länsisalmi Power Station
The power station is sited at a highly visible location at the corner of Ring Road III and the Porvoonväylä highway.The construction project dealt with the expansion and renewal of Fingrid’s 400 kV Länsisalmi electric power station. Electricity is transmitted from Fingrid’s main grid through the power station to the 800 000 residents of Vantaa and Helsinki.The architectonic concept derives its inspiration from electricity and its visual manifestation: light.The juxtaposition of energy flowing through the power station with the flow of vehicular traffic passing by the site inspired us to create a visually attractive and memorable architectural entity.The placement of the building volumes on the site, as well as their plan configurations... C&P Corporate Headquarters
A real estate company’s corporate headquarters, located at the city’s highest traffic entrance, brings clarity and conciseness and acts as a new landmark to a transitioning industrial area within an emerging district.
The projects main ambition was to create an authentic example of “Built Identity” within the context of a seven-story building, incorporating the client’s logo icon throughout the building elevation.
The project name, CUBEND, translates firm values by unifying the words “cube,” relating to wholeness and persistence, plus “bend,” standing for movement and dynamics. Organized as a cube and divided by a curved atrium across all floors, the building consists of a glass-domina... More

Zeitz MOCAA (Museum of Contemporary Art Africa)
The Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA), was unveiled today ahead of its public opening on 22 September 2017 at Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront. It will be the world’s largest museum dedicated to contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora and is designed by internationally acclaimed designers Heatherwick Studio, based in London. The museum is housed in 9,500 sq metres of custom designed space, spread over nine floors, carved out of the monumental structure of the historic Grain Silo Complex. The silo, disused since 1990, stands as a monument to the industrial past of Cape Town, at one time the tallest building in South Africa, now given new life through the transformation by Heatherwick Studio.

New Visitor Centre at Hammershus Castle Ruin
A new Visitor Centre has just been inaugurated at Northern Europe’s largest castle ruin, Hammershus, in Denmark. The centre is designed by Arkitema Architects and Professor ChristofferHarlang and is situated discreetly in the rocks facing the ruin. The architects were tasked with respecting the unique natural surroundings and creating a place for visitors which offers modern facilities, space for storytelling and direct views of the main attraction.On the small Danish rocky island of Bornholm in the Baltic Sea lies Hammershus, the largest castle ruin in Northern Europe.
