The project is for a building, on the corner of a block, built on the site of an old two-storey house which had been demolished.  The building is an integral part of the urban fabric inside Lagos town walls and is opposite the Church of St Sebastião. The building was therefore built from the ground up, to be a home for a couple with children, for them to live in a densely built, but quiet, area of the historic town centre. A city retreat inspired by Japanese simplicity and minimalism. Old oak doors on a cobbled back street in Paris, lead up a winding wooden staircase to a dark dusty apartment, uninhabited for nine years.Studio Hazeldean transformed this into a calm oasis in the heart of the bustling city. Dan Hazeldean The design was based on Shibui - subtle understated beauty, and Kanso - simplicity. We used a restrained palette of materials to unify the space and create flow through the apartment. Apartment in Residential Complex Lypki is a premium-class project, the design of which were used expensive materials: natural stone, brass, glossy surfaces. In the center of the kitchen there is an island with delicate lavender facades, turning into a dining table. The spatial organization is clear, open and flexible; the materials are subdued; details are meticulously precise, yet subtle; and care is taken to imbue sophisticated refinement. Situated in Bucharest, near the Politehnica student campus, the small apartment was designed to accomodate future students or a young family. The apartment’s initial layout was maintained, two rooms and an enclosed kitchen, one bathroom, and the design requirements were budget oriented and fast build time. The lack of natural light and tight space dictated that the walls and the furniture should be white for optimal light bounce and creating the sensation of a larger space.
