Banghwa-dong white house
Prologue
On small plots of land subject to strict north-facing daylight setback regulations, the form is almost invariably dictated by legal restrictions. Invisible lines tailor the planes, and these planes are stretched to form volumes. Consequently, the resulting "face" of the building is all too familiar to us.
I wanted to endow that familiar, monotonous, and characterless face with an expression. To reveal an expression rather than apply makeup—this became the pivotal objective of this project.

Studio Coplanar renovates a countryside house in a white and azure palette
Located in the countryside of downtown Brazil, Serrana House designed by Studio Coplanar is a 30-year-old small house that had remained unused for ten years until the owners decided to renovate it into a holiday retreat. Built on the highest point of the terrain, the house offered the opportunity to integrate nature and frame views of the serene surroundings.

The old house was cramped and lacked natural light and ventilation. To overcome this, the internal layout was modified and spaces towards the rear end were opened into small, private courtyards. These courtyards not just provided cross ventilation and light but also made the rooms feel more spacious and open.

Minimal Villa Exterior Design
Designing in the minimalistic style is an art form, and not everyone can accomplish it well. Ahmad Al Suwaidi came to CAS with the task of designing a minimal style villa exterior that was both luxurious yet cost effective. The CAS team responded by designing a simple but unique design that utilized the existing edges and lines of the house. There was a slight change in the floor plan to accommodate the exterior design, but the overall theme carried out in a straightforward and simple way. Stucco and wood cladding were used to highlight the clean, crisp lines of the exterior façade, which came out looking absolutely stunning.

Imperial American Chain Restaurants Design
In the design of the Imperial American Chain Restaurants in Alabama, USA, the CAS team manages to capture that elusive slice-of-life-Americana vibe in a concise, straightforward exterior design. The main objective was to restore the original building and adapting it for modern use according to the context of restaurant design. The CAS team tackled this challenge by designing the three requisite restaurants in the lobby, so there would be leeway for outside seating areas as well. The offices were delegated to the first floor, while the façade was done up in white stucco, . natural Natural stone and bright red overhangs to emulate a welcoming vibe.

Nestlé Waters Beirut Headquarters
Nestle Waters Beirut Headquarters:
The NestléWaters’offices & warehouse are located on a lot near the Beirut River. It is a project intended to function as a logistical platform for the company; a head office that doubles up as a primary storage and distribution site.
The scheme yields to the highly functional aspect of the warehouse by letting the vehicle path and turning radii carve its mass and produce a volume that maximizes size without losing efficiency. The office block acknowledges the importance of uninterrupted flow & sits atop the warehouse cantilevering above the access andcreating a grand gate for the ubiquitous delivery truck.
