A simple contemporary design for a small wine bar-shop with the concept of enhancing wine culture through tastings of a regularly updated selection of wines by the glass from around the world in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The bar is located in the courtyard of one of Belgrade's bustling central streets. It originally featured a mezzanine, a glass staircase, and a column that the owners, a sommelier with extensive wine expertise and his wife, wished to integrate into the new interior. The interior of this wine shop has been thoughtfully curated to evoke a sense of spaciousness and grandeur. Its defining feature is a parametric shelf system, a work of art that plays with geometric forms to create an illusion of depth and volume. The wooden shelving, meticulously designed and crafted, not only serves as a functional display for the exquisite Portuguese wines but also imparts a sense of open space and visual intrigue. The interplay of light and shadows on these sculptural shelves imbues the environment with a dynamic, almost kinetic energy, adding to the overall sense of exploration and discovery. Located at the eastern edge of the Texas Hill Country, this private wine cave serves as a destination along a secluded bend of the Blanco River. Excavated into the north face of a solid limestone hillside, this shotcrete lined tube is protected on the east and west by tall oak and elm trees, allowing it to nearly disappear within the native landscape. Recently completed on a picturesque winery in Yarra Valley, Victoria, Australia, the new Domaine Chandon restaurant showcases an interior conceived by cross-disciplinary design practice Foolscap Studio, and utilizes three of Banker Wire’s woven stainless steel mesh products in a variety of applications throughout the space. Located in Dundee, Oregon in the heart of Oregon Wine Country, this 12,000 sf former vitamin factory off Hwy 99 was transformed into a state of the art communal natural winemaking facility and tasting room for Day Wines and 10 other winemakers. The design of the architecture and landscape and the materials selected are a reflection of the owner and natural winemaker, Brianne Day. Moving from the gravel parking lot to the winery, a covered loggia and vertical cedar screen, whose design is based on an unfolded wine barrel, enclose a courtyard and create a serene gathering space. Nals is located at the bottom of the “Sirmianer” hill embedded in a scenery of wine and fruit. The porphyry walls of the mountain ridge break through this grapelandscape and form with their dark brownred colour a strong contrast to the lovely scenery of wine. Over the years, the winery grew into a random pattern building-agglomerate. The desire to merge the two places of production “Margreid” and “Nals” and to expand the wine production in Nals requires an advance in the capacities considering the oenological sophisticated processing of the grapes.
