Auteur Russian River

Auteur is a vintner-founded winery specializing in Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines. The winery operates a popular tasting room in downtown Sonoma but wanted to create a visitor experience more closely tied to its Healdsburg vineyards, which look out over the Russian River and forested hillsides. It is within this context that Auteur engaged our practice to create a modern tasting room that embraced the stunning natural setting and reflected its commitment to experimentation and creativity. Matthew Millman Matthew Millman and Elias Blanton The new tasting room was designed on approximately the same location as an aging residential structure that previously occupied the site, allowing much of the 8-acre property to be planted with... Tomac Winery

SUSTAINABILITY/BIODIVERSITYDonja Reka is a village on the outskirts of the town of Jastrebarsko, 40 kilometers from Zagreb, with predominantly rural characteristics. For the family, it is a home and a lifestyle that are inseparable. Tim Bjella Tim Bjella Tim Bjella Tim Bjella Inspired by the earth it rests upon, the exterior of the home draws its color palette from the rich hues of the vineyard soils and local rock outcroppings. The stone and stucco materials link the home with the land, reinforcing the home’s sense of place. The stone seamlessly flows inside where earthy concrete floors, Merlot wine-stained cabinetry,... Garlider

An interplay between vertical retaining walls and horizontal wall panels made of exposed concrete and vertical, rough wooden surfaces made of chestnut forms the motif of the architectural design. The rooms for wine bottle storage and tasting are sunk into the cool slope so that they do not appear too dominant. The entrance façade on the valley side remains above ground and opens up to the opposite side of the Isarco Valley with the Dolomites in the background. Arnold Ritter Jürgen Eheim The furnishings of the tasting room and cellar for the wines are dominated by chestnut wood. Only a few materials associated with wine production are used: Wood, stone, metal, earth, glass. The central room is reminiscent of the "Labe"... More
