ORA completes refurbishment and modernization of Kolby Winery in Czech Republic

Czech architectural studio ORA (Original Regional Architecture) has completed the thorough refurbishment and modernization of Kolby Winery in Pouzdřany, a village in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. The project rejuvenates and unites several existing architectural elements as well as adding a new wine bottle warehouse. Undulating winery roof immerses public space into vineyard landscape

Located in the Czech Republic’s Monrovia countryside, the design of the Lahofer Winery is deeply rooted in nature with the building unfolding into the native terrain, immersing itself into the surrounding vine rows. Designed by Chybik + Kristof Architects & Urban Designers, the winery comprises three distinct interconnected structures – a wine-making facility, winery administrative base, and a visitor centre with tasting room. Fulldraw Winery

Fulldraw Vineyard, located in the heart of the California Central Coast wine country’s Templeton Gap, and its new winery sits sentry to 100 acres of established vineyards. Working intimately with the winemaking team, the first phase of the new facility includes a Fermentation Building with covered Crush Pad, administrative and employee spaces, and a Barrel Aging and Case Goods Storage Building. Copia Vineyards

Establishing itself as the bedrock central to Copia Vineyards’ 50-acre estate, this new production winery and tasting room facility is located among the scenic hills of the Willow Creek District on the western side of Paso Robles, California. The combination of calcareous soil and steep slopes make for ideal growing conditions to produce premium, well-balanced Rhone varietals. The building responds directly to hillside terroir, the climatic influences of the sun and prevailing breezes enjoyed by the Central Coast. A simple layout facilitates the production of small-lot, Rhone-style blends of up to 3,000-5,000 cases annually. Winery Cased Goods and Admin Building

Adjacent to award-winning Winery and Tasting Room structures that maintain the spirit of buildings that are subservient to the landscape, the new Cased Goods and Administrative building expands on the village concept at a historic winery along California’s Central Coast. Situated to the north of the recently completed Tasting and Hospitality Building, the Cased Goods warehouse stores 40,000 cases and nestles itself into the base of the hill, while admin and hospitality storage program flank the length of the building.
